The Ko-op, a collective of like-minded Canadian retailers each influenced by skateboarding, art, music, and clothing have ventured out on their first joint project with Quintin to produce the City Series cap collection. Ko-op worked with Quintin to put together a collection of snapback hats, 5-panel caps and fitted hats representing each of the retailers part of the Ko-op movement. Shop involved in Ko-op and this City Series produced with Quintin includes Saskatoon’s Momentum, Calgary’s Groupseven, Vancouver’s Complex, Regina’s The Tiki Room, Ottawa’s Norml, Montreal’s Off The Hook, New Market’s Blue Tile Lounge and Hamilton’s Flat Spot.

Jason and Casey, two designers who are responsible for creating Minor League and Major League Baseball logos, as well as developing the brand The Clink Room, present their first New Era collaboration. The light blue 59Fifty features embroidery of a concept logo Jason and Casey had designed for the Tulsa Drillers during the inital design process. The underbrim includes the use of a corkboard fabric, embroidery of a pencil is featured on the temple and Tulsa Drillers Phase IV is embroidered across the rear of the fitted hat.

A total of 150 caps have been produced with each one individually hand numbered and signed by each artist on a tag included on the interior of the caps. Thanks to HighSnobiety we have a preview of some of the upcoming caps being presented as part of the Ransom Fall/Winter 2009 Collection. Within the coming weeks Ransom will be releasing a few 5-panel fitted hats, a nice wool beanie and a collaboration with New Era bearing a RNSM logo embroidered on the back of the caps.

Animal Bikes, makers of BMX parts, accessories and apparel introduces three new fitted hats as part of their Winter 2009 Collection. The season brings us three New Era fitted hats, one of which is a dogear hat.

First up is the Flap Ya Jacks which is the New Era Dogear Fitted. The 100% cotton 59Fifty features a checkered flannel design in black/grey/white with wool covered ear flaps to keep you warm. An offset Animal Bikes logo is woven onto the front right panel with a cropped griffin head print on the under visor. The phrase “MAKING MOVES SINCE ‘00” is embroidered around the cap when the ear flaps are down.

Second up is the Farm New Era. This 59Fifty features another checkered flannel design, this time in red/black and blue/black. Huge raised embroidery of Animal runs across the right side of the hat and a solid black under visor finishes things up.

Lastly is the Hyphen New Era made from melton wool. The cap features an aqua teal flip visor, eyelets, and logo applique on the front panels. A white New Era flag is included on the left temple and a griffin head logo on the back right panel.

All three of these new Animal Bikes x New Era 59Fifty Fitted Hats are available now at select Animal Bikes retailers.
